Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust

WWT Arundel is a 60-acre wetland nature reserve located in the Arun Valley, West Sussex. Managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, it features diverse habitats that support various species of ducks, geese, and swans. The reserve is particularly known for its endangered Hawaiian goose, or nēnē, and offers unique exhibits like the Coastal Creek aviary and Pelican Cove. With eight wildlife hides and opportunities for guided boat safaris, visitors can immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of wetland ecosystems year-round. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of species throughout the year, with peak sightings of Mandarin Ducks and Cackling Geese in April, best observed around 01:00 and 10:00, respectively. January is notable for sightings of Western Cattle-Egrets and Tundra Swans, particularly around 15:00. Spring brings nesting kingfishers and sand martins, while winter showcases roosting marsh harriers. With such a dynamic range of wildlife, WWT Arundel offers a captivating experience for nature lovers at any time of year.
