Woods Mill Nature Reserve encompasses 47 acres of diverse wetland and woodland habitats, showcasing the rich natural heritage of the countryside. This tranquil reserve features ancient woodlands, old ponds, and unimproved meadows, providing a haven for various species. While the bird hide is currently out of service, the reserve remains open year-round, offering facilities such as a car park, bike racks, and toilets. Dogs are not permitted, except for assistance dogs. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of species, particularly in January when activity peaks for birds like the Nuthatch, Great Tit, and Mute Swan, often best observed around midnight. February brings the Firecrest, while March is ideal for spotting Blue Tits. The reserve's ongoing habitat enhancements, including the creation of shallow scrapes, promise to further enrich the wildlife experience.
