Llandinam Gravels is a unique nature reserve located along the River Severn, featuring river meadows and areas of river shingle. The Trust actively manages the habitat to promote a balance between erosion and creation, fostering a rich environment for invertebrates, wading birds, and other wildlife. The river margins are adorned with diverse plant life that supports dragonflies, damselflies, and provides cover for birds and otters, making it a vital ecological area. The best time to visit Llandinam Gravels is in early summer when the flower-rich meadows are in full bloom and birds are actively breeding. Notable species include Blue Tits, Chaffinches, and Goldfinches, with peak observations occurring in March. Other highlights include Siskins in February and Nuthatches in April, offering visitors a chance to witness a variety of birdlife throughout the seasons, particularly during early morning and dusk.
