The army's red flag, which normally flies near the gate, does not apply to the reserve, but do not pass the MOD signs at the reserve boundary. A public footpath runs from the FC car park through the northern edge of the reserve as far as the MoD firing range, and then northwards leaving the reserve and entering West Wood for a round trip back to the car park.
