Gillham Woods Nature Reserve is a small yet vibrant oak woodland located in Cooden, just west of Bexhill. Although it is free to visit, the reserve relies on community support for its upkeep, making it a cherished local asset. In March, visitors can expect to see a variety of flora, including Bramble, Holly, and Wilson's Honeysuckle, all peaking around midnight. Autumn brings the Guelder-rose and Sweet Chestnut, with notable sightings in November. For those interested in wildlife, the reserve is a peaceful spot to enjoy nature throughout the year, particularly during these peak months.
