Folly Farm is a tranquil 250-acre nature reserve located between Bath and Bristol in Somerset, managed by the Avon Wildlife Trust. This traditionally managed working farm features rare wildflower meadows, woodlands, and stunning views of the Mendip Hills and Chew Valley Lake. Much of the area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), highlighting its ecological importance and the preservation of its diverse habitats. Visitors to Folly Farm can expect to see a variety of butterfly species, particularly in June when Meadow Browns and Marbled Whites are most active. Other notable sightings include Brimstones in May and Ringlets in July, with peak activity typically occurring around 1:00 PM. The reserve's rich flora and fauna make it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts throughout the warmer months.
