Flatropers Wood Nature Reserve is a tranquil 37-hectare mixed woodland located in the far east of Sussex, near the village of Beckley. This diverse habitat features streams, ponds, and open heathy areas, providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. The woodland's varied composition reflects its historical management, making it a unique spot for nature enthusiasts. The reserve is free to visit, supported by memberships and donations from the public. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species such as the Jay and Stock Dove, which are best observed in February. March is a particularly vibrant month, showcasing blooming Primroses and the emergence of the Birch Catkin Bug. Other notable sightings include the Great Spotted Woodpecker and various plants like Lords-and-Ladies, peaking in March as well.
