Feystown is Northern Ireland's smallest nature reserve, located in the picturesque Glens of Antrim. This charming meadow is primarily known for being the prime site for the rare wood cranesbill flower, which thrives due to traditional management practices involving annual cutting and livestock grazing. While small, the reserve supports a variety of species-rich meadow plants, including common knapweed and yellow rattle, making it a significant ecological area. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for red squirrels, which are active year-round with peak sightings in March, particularly around 1:00 AM. Pine martens also frequent the area, peaking in May, while red foxes are more elusive, with sightings peaking in December. Visitors may also spot butterflies like the orange-tip and green-veined white during warmer months, although access to the reserve is limited to roadside viewing due to its sensitivity.
