Fairfield Pit
UK Wildlife Trusts
Fairfield Pit is one of the Humber Bank clay pits but its water conditions are more saline than the others. During the autumn and winter many different bird species may be seen from the sea bank. Breeding birds include coot, moorhen, mallard, and reed and sedge warblers. The foreshore in front of the pit is a good place to observe both passage and wintering waders.
