Eridge Rocks Nature Reserve, located in the High Weald of East Sussex, features impressive cliffs and giant boulders reaching up to ten metres high. This Site of Special Scientific Interest is notable for its diverse plant community, including rare lichens, mosses, and liverworts that thrive on the sandstone outcrops. The reserve is characterized by its ancient Beech, Yew, and Holly trees, providing a unique woodland habitat for visitors to explore. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for a variety of species, particularly in June when activity peaks. Notable sightings include the Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown butterflies, both best observed around 01:00. The Marsh Tit is another highlight, with sightings peaking in July at dusk. Other species such as the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and Hairy Dragonfly also add to the reserve's biodiversity, making it a rewarding destination for nature lovers throughout the warmer months.
