Crown Farm Nature Reserve is a 17-hectare site located in Oakmere, Cheshire, featuring a partly restored sand quarry. This area showcases a variety of habitats, including steep flower-rich banks, young woodland, grassland, and wetland. The reserve is notable for its rich diversity of pollinators and is part of the larger active Cheshire Sands quarry, contributing to its ecological significance. Visitors can expect to see a range of butterfly species, with peak activity occurring in September. Notable sightings include the Small White and Speckled Wood butterflies, both of which are best observed around 01:00. Other species, such as the Peacock and cicadella viridis, also make appearances during specific months, making Crown Farm a vibrant spot for wildlife enthusiasts throughout the year.
