Cribb's Meadow is a 4.2-hectare nature reserve located east of Wymondham in Leicestershire. Owned and managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, it is designated as a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. The reserve features a mosaic of grasslands, two ponds, and a disused railway line, creating a peaceful environment that is particularly vibrant in spring when birdsong fills the air. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting various species throughout the year, with notable sightings peaking in July. During this month, butterflies such as the Peacock and Green-veined White are active, alongside flowering plants like Common Bird's-foot-trefoil. In spring, visitors may be fortunate enough to see great crested newts in the ponds and a variety of orchids, including green-winged orchids. The best time for observation appears to be around 01:00, making it an ideal time for night-time wildlife watching.
