Cors Dyfi is a vibrant nature reserve located near Derwenlas in Powys, Wales, managed by the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust. This wetland habitat has transformed over the years from estuarine salt marsh to a rich mixture of bog, swamp, wet woodland, and scrub, making it a haven for diverse wildlife. It is also home to the Dyfi Osprey Project and the Dyfi Wildlife Centre, which provide excellent facilities for visitors. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting ospreys from April to September, with peak sightings in May around midday. Other highlights include Canada geese, reed bunting, and common lizards, which are best observed in April and August, respectively. Winter visitors may catch a glimpse of barnacle geese and hen harriers, while elusive bitterns can be found in the reed beds. The reserve is alive with activity year-round, making it a fantastic destination for wildlife watching.
