Coombs Meadows is a picturesque nature reserve located in Leicestershire, overlooking the Vale of Belvoir. The reserve includes areas rich in interesting flora, such as meadow saxifrage and common spotted-orchids, which bloom in June. Designated as a Local Wildlife Site, it also has historical significance with remnants of an old hall linked to Colonel Francis Hacker. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species like the Great Horsetail and Speckled Bush-cricket, both peaking in August around 1:00 AM. The reserve's varied habitats support a range of birds, bats, and invertebrates, making it an excellent spot for nature observation. Visitors are encouraged to explore during the summer months to fully appreciate the vibrant plant life and the unique wildlife that thrives in this charming landscape.
