Collingwood is a 3-hectare nature reserve located 1.6 km south of Hawkhurst in Kent, managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust. This delightful woodland sanctuary features a mix of exotic species alongside native trees such as oaks, hornbeam, and beech. The reserve is centred around a picturesque lake, surrounded by steep valleys and stepped paths, and is home to natural vegetation including water lilies and bulrushes. While sightings data is limited, visitors may observe species like mallards, kingfishers, and moorhens around the lake. The best time to visit is from April to July, with peak activity for certain species such as the Glow-worm occurring in August around 1:00 AM. This makes the reserve an intriguing spot for nocturnal wildlife enthusiasts during the summer months.
