Coed Pendugwm is an ancient wild wood located in Wales, covering 3.2 hectares and part of the Pendugwm Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This woodland is primarily managed for wildlife, featuring majestic sessile oaks that have thrived for over 400 years. The challenging terrain, including steep paths and muddy ground, makes it suitable only for confident walkers equipped with appropriate footwear and clothing. Spring is an ideal time to visit Coed Pendugwm, as the vibrant woodland flowers bloom and bird song fills the air. Look out for Pied Flycatchers busy with nesting in this season, alongside Wrens and Blackbirds peaking in April. May brings Robin and Blackcap sightings, while the elusive Hazel Dormouse can be spotted in September. Early morning visits around 1:00 AM are particularly rewarding for observing these species.
