Clapton Moor is a 40-hectare nature reserve located in the Gordano Valley of North Somerset, England. This Avon Wildlife Trust site features a rich landscape of species-rich rhynes and is significant for its breeding waders and wintering wildfowl. The reserve is part of the Clapton Moor, Middle Bridge and rhynes Site of Nature Conservation Interest, and while access is restricted for non-permit holders, a public footpath runs through it, leading to a bird hide. Visitors to Clapton Moor can look forward to a variety of wildlife, particularly in July when butterflies such as the Small White, Gatekeeper, and Ringlet are most active. Peak observation times are around 01:00, making early morning visits ideal. Other notable species include the Raven in January and the Great Tit in April, while dragonflies like the Southern Hawker can be spotted in August.
