The Christopher Cadbury Reserve is an ancient unimproved grassland located in the lee of the Black Mountains, featuring two hay meadows rich in biodiversity. With over 160 recorded plant species, visitors can expect to see a variety of flora, including bistort, eyebright, yellow rattle, knapweed, and several orchids such as common spotted and green winged. The reserve's character is further enhanced by numerous anthills and vibrant insect life, particularly in mid-summer. For wildlife enthusiasts, the best time to visit is during March, when species like Great Scented Liverwort and various mosses peak in activity. Notable sightings include the cuckooflower in April and the chimney sweeper moth in mid-summer. Observers may also spot moles and other flora, making each visit a unique opportunity to connect with nature.
