Cethins Meadow, located in the Black Mountains Valley Living Landscape, features unimproved, species-rich lowland neutral grassland. This traditionally managed hay meadow is a prime example of the flower-rich habitats that once flourished across the Marches before the use of artificial fertilizers. The reserve is notable for its diverse wildflower species and is bordered by hedgerows that provide additional habitat for various birds. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildflowers, particularly in spring and summer, with notable species including pignut and orchids. June is the best month for wildlife activity, particularly around 01:00, when butterflies and day-flying moths are abundant. Look out for the Great White Egret in November, as well as other species like the Lesser Horseshoe Bat in October, which also peak around midnight.
