Canon Tump Common is a triangular reserve located in the foothills of the Black Mountains, primarily featuring neutral grassland flanked by woodland. This registered common is home to over 150 plant species, including notable varieties such as cowslip, spotted orchid, and cow-wheat, making it a rich habitat for biodiversity. Visitors can look out for the Great White Egret, which has been spotted here, particularly peaking in November. The best time to experience the reserve's floral displays is in June, when species like Lady-fern, Meadowsweet, and Meadow Buttercup are at their most vibrant, with activity peaking around 1:00 AM.
