Cannop Bridge Marsh is a vibrant nature reserve characterized by its meandering streams and diverse wetland habitats. Located in a tranquil area, it features dense stands of club-rush, bullrushes, and a variety of flowering plants such as common spotted-orchids and marsh pennywort. The reserve is home to a mix of alder and birch trees, providing a rich environment for both flora and fauna. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a range of bird species, particularly in January when activity peaks, with sightings of Mandarin Ducks, Little Grebes, and Eurasian Coots best observed around midnight. May is an excellent time for spotting Hawfinches and Red Crossbills at dawn and late afternoon, respectively. The diverse butterfly population, along with dragonflies and damselflies, adds to the reserve's appeal, making it a delightful destination for nature lovers year-round.
