Cabilla & Redrice Woods is a serene ancient woodland located in Cornwall, renowned for its veteran and ancient oak trees, some over 400 years old. The reserve features a public footpath and a waymarked permissive path that meanders past historical mine works, alongside a circular route around Redrice Wood. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and stunning seasonal displays, from vibrant bluebells in spring to the rich hues of autumn foliage. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for a variety of species, including six types of bats such as the greater and lesser horseshoe bats. The best times to visit for wildlife sightings are in October, when species like the Common Carder Bee and 7-spot Ladybird are most active. Early spring is ideal for spotting resident woodland birds, while butterflies like brimstone and comma can be seen in April, and the silver-washed fritillary in July.
