Burledge Hill is a flower-rich grassland located on the north-eastern fringes of the Mendip Hills, offering stunning views over Chew Valley Lake. This Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI) is part of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), featuring a diverse array of flora including cowslip, lady's mantle, and devil's bit scabious. The area is characterized by its vibrant summer butterfly populations and the melodic songs of birds such as willow warbler and garden warbler. Visitors to Burledge Hill can expect to see a variety of wildlife, particularly in July when species like the Black-headed Gull and Mallard are most frequently observed. Early morning is the best time for sightings, with peak activity around midnight. Other notable species include Coots in March and Canada Geese in January, making each season a unique experience for wildlife enthusiasts.
