Bugdens Meadows is a tranquil nature reserve located in the heart of Verwood, just off the B3081 Ringwood Road. This wildflower-rich wet meadow land features permissive open access, allowing visitors to wander through fields and into Bugdens Wood. The reserve offers a glimpse into the area's natural history, with vibrant wildflowers and diverse habitats that support a variety of wildlife. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting species such as the Red Crossbill and Eurasian Siskin, particularly in September and January, respectively. Late spring is an excellent time to visit for sightings of the Eurasian Nightjar and European Stonechat at dusk, while April brings opportunities to see Willow Warblers and Slow-worms. The reserve is alive with butterflies and buzzing insects, making it a delightful destination throughout the year.
