Brotheridge Green Nature Reserve, located about 2.5 miles west of Upton-upon-Severn in Worcestershire, is a vibrant habitat that evolved from a former railway line. The reserve features a diverse landscape of grassland, scrub, and young trees, providing a mosaic of habitats that support a variety of wildlife throughout the seasons. It is part of the Severn and Avon Vales Landscape Area and the Malvern Chase Living Landscape, managed by the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. Visitors can expect to see over 30 species of butterflies, with notable sightings including the Meadow Brown and Speckled Wood, peaking in August and April respectively. The best time for butterfly observation is around 1:00 AM, while birdwatchers may catch glimpses of Red-legged Partridge and Common Chaffinch at dusk in January. For a rich wildlife experience, spring and summer months are particularly rewarding, showcasing the reserve's diverse flora and fauna.
