Brassey nature reserve is a two-hectare area of wetland and unimproved grassland located on the northern side of the Windrush Valley near Greystones Farm, Gloucestershire. Recognised for its conservation value since 1954, it is part of the Brassey Reserve and Windrush Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The reserve features a unique collection of marshland plants and supports a rich biodiversity, including over 1,100 recorded species and several nationally scarce species. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for the Yellowhammer, which has been observed peaking in June, particularly around 01:00. While access to Brassey is generally restricted due to its use by Thames Water Ltd, arrangements can be made for group visits. The best time to experience the reserve's wildlife is during the summer months, when many species are most active.
