Bracketts Coppice is a stunning nature reserve in Dorset, featuring ancient woodlands, meadows, hedgerows, and a fast-flowing stream. This diverse habitat supports some of the region's rarest species, including dormice, otters, and various woodpeckers. Visitors can explore public and permissive footpaths, although marked trails are limited in the meadows. The reserve is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Wildlife highlights include a variety of bird species, with notable sightings of Blue Tits peaking in November and Robins in January. Winter months are particularly active, with Marsh Tits and Goldcrests also observed frequently. For butterfly enthusiasts, May brings the Brimstone butterfly, while summer showcases a rich array of wildflowers and other butterfly species. January is the best month for birdwatching, especially around midnight when activity peaks.
