Bostraze Nature Reserve is part of the expansive Bostraze Bog, one of West Penwith's largest wetland habitats. Known locally as ‘Cuckoo Valley’, this reserve features a diverse range of wildlife and unique habitats, including wet grassland, mossy pools, and several ponds. Notable for its carnivorous plants, such as round-leaved sundew and pale butterwort, Bostraze is also a site of historical significance due to remnants of tin streaming from past mining activities. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing a variety of species throughout the year. The best time to see red-billed choughs is in September around 1 PM, while willow warblers peak in October at dawn. Meadow pipits are most active in February at dusk, and sightings of merlins are best in March during the evening. With a rich array of birds and unique flora, Bostraze offers a captivating experience for nature lovers.
