Boston Road Brick Pits is a diverse nature reserve featuring a hay meadow, ponds, and a mix of woodland and mature hedgerows. This area, part of old clay pits, is rich in habitats including grassland, reedbeds, and an orchard. The reserve is notable for its aquatic plants like common reed and yellow water-lily, and it provides essential nesting sites for various bird species. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildlife throughout the year, with notable sightings including Blue Tits, which peak in February. The reserve is also home to a range of butterflies in summer, such as meadow brown and gatekeeper. Autumn brings red admirals attracted to fallen fruit, while fieldfares and redwings can be spotted during early winter months.
