Boon's Copse is a species-rich ancient woodland located in a rural landscape, characterized by a diverse array of flora and fauna. Dominated by pendunculate oak, the canopy also includes ash and aspen, while the shrub layer features hazel and various other species. The reserve is notable for its ancient woodland indicators, such as wild service tree and wych elm, and supports a rich ground flora, including greater butterfly orchid and wood anemone. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for dormice, roe deer, and a variety of birds, including the resident great spotted woodpecker and nuthatch. The woodland is also home to butterflies like the common blue and speckled wood.
