Boilton, Nab, Redscar and Tunbrook Woods is one of the largest remaining areas of ancient, semi-natural, deciduous woodland in the North West of England. This stunning reserve, located along the River Ribble, features a diverse mix of sycamore, elm, ash, and oak trees, providing a rich habitat for various plants and animals. It is a perfect example of the region's untamed woodland landscapes and is accessible through the beautiful Brockholes Nature Reserve. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of species throughout the year. Notable sightings include the Osprey in August, best observed around 16:00, and the Common Pochard x Ferruginous Duck hybrid peaking in February at around 14:00. Spring brings the arrival of the Redshank in April, with optimal viewing at dusk, while Roe Deer are best spotted in November. The rare white-letter hairstreak butterfly can be seen in July and August, adding to the vibrant summer fauna.
