Blue House Farm Nature Reserve is a stunning habitat located in a rural setting, featuring a mix of marshland and farmland. The reserve offers a permissive path that connects three bird hides and links to a seawall footpath, creating a 4 km circular route. This area is ideal for observing seasonal wildlife changes and is particularly noted for its rich birdlife, making it a valuable site for nature enthusiasts. Wildlife highlights include the impressive winter flocks of dark-bellied brent geese, with sightings peaking at dawn. August is the best month for birdwatching, featuring species like the hybrid Barnacle x Canada Goose and Temminck's Stint, often seen at dusk. Spring brings the lively sounds of water voles and reed warblers, while summer showcases dragonflies and butterflies. Autumn migration also offers opportunities to spot Northern Wheatear and short-eared owls hunting at dusk.
