Blue Bell Hill
UK Wildlife Trusts
Blue Bell Hill is a 5-hectare nature reserve located in Kent, between Maidstone and Rochester. This chalk grassland habitat is part of the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The reserve features stunning panoramic views over the Weald and is home to a diverse array of threatened plant species, including the delicate squinancywort, which adds a frosted appearance to the landscape during warmer months. While specific wildlife sightings data is sparse, visitors can expect to encounter a variety of butterflies such as the chalk hill blue, Adonis blue, and brown argus, particularly during the summer months when the wildflowers are in full bloom. The reserve also supports small mammals and reptiles, making it a great spot for nature enthusiasts to explore.
