Bloxholm Wood is a tranquil nature reserve located at the southern end of the B1191, near the A15. Once part of the Bloxholm Hall estate, it features low-lying, wet pasture fields, rich meadows, and marsh flora. The woodland is undergoing restoration to enhance biodiversity, with ancient coppiced trees and a variety of native species. Visitors can explore the reserve through a network of footpaths, making it an inviting spot for nature enthusiasts. Wildlife highlights include breeding buzzards, along with woodcock, tawny owls, and nuthatches. The best time to visit is during the spring when early purple orchids bloom and the woodland is alive with bird activity. While specific sightings data is sparse, the diverse flora and fauna promise an engaging experience for all who explore this serene woodland reserve.
