Bishopswood Meadows is a nature reserve located in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Somerset, England. Spanning 9.3 hectares, the reserve features five species-rich limestone and marshy meadows on a gentle north-facing slope, with the River Yarty flowing below. The area's rich biodiversity is attributed to its history of quarrying and lime burning, which has created diverse habitats supporting a variety of plant and animal life. While specific sightings data is sparse, visitors can expect to see a range of flora such as Cowslips, Dwarf Thistle, and various orchids, particularly in spring. Summer brings the opportunity to spot butterflies like the Common Blue, Ringlet, and Marbled White. The reserve's hedgerows provide excellent habitat for Hazel Dormice, while the River Yarty is frequented by Otters, Kingfishers, and Dippers, making it a worthwhile destination for wildlife enthusiasts throughout the warmer months.
