Bishop's Field is a small nature reserve located near the River Stour and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in Wolverley. Acquired by the Bishop family in 1996, this reserve protects a unique wetland habitat that supports a diverse range of flora, including southern marsh orchid and greater tussock sedge. The area is characterized by its high water table and peaty soils, making it a vital spot for committed naturalists. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see a variety of species throughout the year, with notable sightings including Canada Goose and Tawny Owl, particularly active during dusk in January. The best time for observing these birds is around 17:00 for geese and 23:00 for owls. Additionally, Eurasian Siskin can be spotted in July, while the Pied Shieldbug peaks in May, with optimal viewing around 01:00.
