Bay Pond is a 7-hectare nature reserve located in Godstone, Surrey, managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. This site features four ponds, including the main 2.4-hectare Bay Pond, surrounded by wildflower meadows and a mature alder swamp. It is part of the Godstone Ponds Site of Special Scientific Interest and offers an observation platform and bird hide for visitors to enjoy the diverse habitats and wildlife. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species such as Grey Heron, Coot, and Moorhen, with peak sightings occurring in February, particularly around midnight. The reserve is also home to various butterflies, including Gatekeeper and Orange Tip, which can be observed during the warmer months. For those interested in flora, Bluebells and Rowan peak in May, adding to the vibrant biodiversity of this tranquil reserve.
