Bay Meadows is a vital wildlife corridor located in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, connecting Ogbourne Maisey and Marlborough. Acquired by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in 2022, this 30-acre reserve features restored floodplain meadows and a typical Wiltshire chalk stream, the River Og. The site supports a diverse range of habitats for mammals, birds, fish, and pollinators, making it an essential area for both wildlife conservation and public enjoyment. Visitors to Bay Meadows can expect to see a variety of species throughout the year, with peak sightings in December, particularly for Harvest Mice and Blue Tits. The reserve is also home to Water Voles and Treecreepers, with notable activity in April for Hawthorn Mining Bees and Cetti's Warblers. Early morning visits are recommended to catch the best wildlife action, especially around midnight when many species are most active.
