Nearby attractions include Dearne Valley Country Park and Littleworth Park, enhancing its appeal for both wildlife and visitors. Wildlife enthusiasts can look for species such as Moorhen and Great Tit, with peak sightings occurring in April and February, respectively. November is the best month for observing Giant Hogweed and Hawthorn Shieldbug, while March is ideal for spotting Blackbirds and Common Toads. The reserve is particularly active at midnight, making it an intriguing spot for nocturnal wildlife observation.
