Badgeworth, located near Cheltenham, is a significant nature reserve established in 1933 and managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust since 1962. This area features grassland and a pond, supporting one of only two UK populations of the rare adder's-tongue spearwort, also known as the ‘Badgeworth buttercup’. The reserve is closed to the public except for an annual open day, making it a unique and protected habitat. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot a variety of species, particularly during November when activity peaks, especially around 15:00. Look out for the elusive Little Owl, as well as other birds like the Tawny Owl and Eurasian Siskin, which are best observed at dusk. The diverse plant life and breeding amphibians further enhance the ecological richness of Badgeworth, making it a noteworthy site for nature lovers.
