Alvecote Meadows is a stunning nature reserve located within the floodplain of the River Anker, featuring a diverse array of wetland habitats such as wet grassland, marsh, open water, and reed swamp. This area is part of the largest SSSI in Warwickshire, Alvecote Pools, and offers visitors a chance to explore two charming meadows, swampland, and a small stream, all rich in flora including water mint and common flea-bane. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting various species, particularly in April when activity peaks, especially at dusk around 20:00. Notable sightings include tawny owls, great crested grebes, and little egrets, with the best chances for observing these birds occurring during the evening hours. Additionally, the reserve is home to a variety of butterflies, dragonflies, and amphibians, making it a vibrant destination for nature lovers year-round.
