Alderney Community Woodland is a 17-hectare area shaped by thousands of years of human activity, featuring a diverse landscape of native broadleaf trees and historic elements. Located on States of Alderney land, this community-focused woodland aims to enhance local biodiversity while providing educational and recreational opportunities. Managed by the Alderney Wildlife Trust in collaboration with local groups, it serves as a hub for wildlife and community engagement. Visitors to Alderney Community Woodland can look forward to a variety of wildlife, particularly during peak months like June, when species such as the Summer Chafer and Pyramidal Orchid are most active. Notable sightings include the Common Cockchafer in May and the Green-winged Orchid in April. The best time for observing these species is around 01:00, making it an ideal time for night-time explorations of this vibrant habitat.
