Wallacebank Wood is an ancient semi-natural woodland located in the UK, featuring a diverse mix of oak, Scots pine, beech, and larch. The understorey is rich with alder, holly, hazel, and rowan, while the forest floor showcases a variety of grasses and woodland plants, including stunning displays of bluebells and wood anemone. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing grey squirrels, especially in March when activity peaks around midnight. Other notable species include red squirrels, which are best spotted in September, and various birds such as jackdaws and buzzards, peaking in January and February respectively. March is an excellent month for visits, with a variety of species becoming more active.
