The Miley is a transformed disused railway located within walking distance of Dundee city centre. Once an impassable rubbish tip, it now features diverse habitats including grassland, tall-herb communities, scrub, and trees, making it a vital refuge for various birds, mammals, and insects. Visitors can expect to see a variety of wildlife year-round, with peak activity in October. Notable species include the Grey Squirrel, which is most active around 1:00 AM, and the Magpie, peaking in January. Other highlights include the Great Tit in September and Goldfinch in March, both best observed around 1:00 AM. Early morning visits may also reveal Jay and Stock Dove, particularly in February.
