Spey Bay is a stunning coastal reserve located at the mouth of the River Spey in Moray, Scotland. Renowned for having the largest shingle beach in Scotland, the reserve features a diverse range of habitats, including coastal grasslands, brackish saltmarsh, and wet woodland, all shaped by the dynamic river environment. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to a variety of species, particularly in August when activity peaks, especially at dusk around 17:00. Notable sightings include Corn Buntings and Pink-footed Geese in May, as well as Goosanders and Ospreys during the summer months. Keep an eye out for Bottle-nosed Dolphins in June, best observed around 01:00, making Spey Bay a vibrant destination for nature lovers throughout the year.
