Red Moss of Netherley is a remarkable nature reserve located in north east Scotland, featuring a diverse mosaic of fen, marsh, and woodland habitats. This area is celebrated for its raised bog, which supports a rich variety of flora, including heather, bog asphodel, Sphagnum moss, and carnivorous sundews, making it a vital ecological site. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to observing species such as Greylag Goose and Blackbird, with peak sightings occurring in April and June, respectively. The best time for viewing is around 01:00, particularly in June when activity is at its highest, featuring birds like the Little Ringed Plover and Yellowhammer. May also offers opportunities to spot Water Crickets and Chaffinches, while August brings the 7-spot Ladybird.
