Lower Nethan Gorge is a scenic nature reserve located in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, characterized by its dramatic gorge landscape and diverse habitats including woodlands and riverside areas. This reserve is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), making it an important area for conservation and wildlife protection. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting a variety of bird species, particularly in January when activity peaks. Notable sightings include the Great Tit and Eurasian Blue Tit, both best observed around 01:00, as well as Mistle Thrush and Fieldfare in March. The reserve is also home to the striking Common Buzzard, which can be seen in February, particularly around 15:00.
