Loch of Lintrathen is a picturesque inland loch located in Angus, serving as a reservoir for the surrounding areas. This reserve features diverse habitats that support a variety of wildlife, particularly during the breeding season for songbirds in summer and the influx of wintering birds, such as greylag geese, in the colder months. Wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to spotting red squirrels, especially in January when they are most active around midnight. Other notable species include coots and great crested grebes, peaking in February, while pink-footed geese and common ravens can be seen at dusk in April.
