Loch Ardinning is a scenic wildlife reserve located in Stirling, Scotland, near Strathblane and the Campsie Fells. This 10-hectare freshwater loch features diverse habitats including wetland, woodland, and moorland, with mature willow, birch, and alder lining the southwest shore, while reeds and rushes dominate the northern edges. The area is an important ecological site, providing a rich environment for various species. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see Red Squirrels year-round, with peak activity in October. Other notable species include Mallards and Tufted Ducks, best observed in March and February, respectively. For birdwatchers, the best times to visit are around midnight, particularly to catch glimpses of Mute Swans and Grey Herons. The reserve offers a vibrant experience, especially in the autumn months when wildlife activity is at its peak.
