Hill of White Hamars is an Orkney nature reserve renowned for its dramatic coastal landscape, featuring cliffs, caves, natural arches, and blowholes. This unique habitat provides excellent opportunities for observing seabirds and other wildlife, making it a significant area for conservation and public enjoyment. Visitors can look for a variety of bird species throughout the year, with notable peaks in January when Great Black-backed Gulls and Ruddy Turnstones are most active around 14:00. August is ideal for spotting Hen Harriers, while May offers sightings of Herring Gulls and Black Guillemots at dusk. February is also a good time for Razorbills and Common Pochards, particularly at dawn.
